Before your appointment
Call (443) 360-5527 to discuss scheduling and which evaluation is appropriate. Our office can explain referral requirements, insurance questions, and any paperwork to complete.
Let us know about communication, mobility, or assistance needs before your visit. If you plan to bring a caregiver or family member, mention that when scheduling.
A simple first-visit checklist
- Photo identification and insurance cards.
- Your referral or therapy order, if required.
- A current medication list and relevant discharge or therapy records.
- Glasses, hearing aids, and your usual walking or mobility aid.
- Comfortable clothing and a short list of activities you want to work on.
What happens at the evaluation?
Your therapist asks about your history, symptoms, routine, and goals. The assessment depends on the service: it may focus on movement and balance, daily activities, communication, or thinking skills.
You will discuss the findings and recommended next steps. Ask how therapy goals will be measured, what you can practice between visits, and how the plan may change. Appointment length and recommended frequency depend on the evaluation; confirm timing with the office.
Getting to the clinic
Find us at 1848 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208. Check our office hours and directions as you plan your visit.
Outpatient care means you return home after your appointment. Plan transportation and any assistance you need for the visit. Call ahead if you have questions about access or arrival.
Moving from hospital or home-based care
Outpatient care means traveling to scheduled clinic appointments. Share your discharge plan, current therapy recommendations, and assistance needs before booking. The office can discuss whether this setting fits the care you need.
How will we know therapy is helping?
Your therapist connects findings from the evaluation to goals you understand. Progress may be reflected in a task becoming easier, a skill improving, a useful adaptation, or the amount of help you need.
We revisit goals and discuss what is happening between appointments. The plan can change with your response, medical guidance, and priorities. Ask what a measure or activity means for your daily life.
Support between appointments
Home practice should fit your routine and abilities. Tell us if something is confusing or too difficult. A family member can help learn the plan when you want them involved.
Common questions
Will insurance cover my therapy?
Coverage depends on your plan, benefits, medical necessity, and authorization requirements. Our office can help you understand the next steps; a listed insurance plan does not guarantee payment for every service.
How do I request an appointment?
