Pain, movement & orthopedic rehabilitation

Pain or an injury can make everyday movement more difficult, including when you are also living with a neurological condition. We work on practical goals for mobility, comfort, and daily function.

Make the goal meaningful

Tell us what is hard to do: reach a shelf, dress, get out of a chair, walk, or manage a household task. We consider your medical history, symptoms, and current movement to guide an individual plan.

  • Back or neck difficulties, including referred arm or leg symptoms.
  • Shoulder stiffness, rotator cuff-related problems, and painful reaching.
  • Hip, knee, foot, or ankle problems affecting daily movement.
  • Recovery after surgery or an injury, with appropriate medical guidance.

Bring the medical plan into rehabilitation

After a procedure, fracture, or joint replacement, timing and precautions matter. Bring the instructions from your treating clinician so therapy can fit your stage of recovery.

Your plan may involve movement practice, selected exercise, functional tasks, or adjustments that make activities more manageable.

Plan around persistent pain and fatigue

When symptoms continue, we discuss how they affect your routine and what you want to work toward. Pacing, changing a task, and reviewing your response to activity can be useful parts of an individual plan.

Tell us about medical precautions, altered sensation, or concerns about bone health. The plan should fit you rather than follow a standard exercise list.

Care for the whole task

Occupational therapy can address daily activities and hand use; physical therapy can address movement and mobility. Your evaluation helps determine which services fit the problems you want to work on.

Common questions

Can I ask about pain care even though this is a neuro clinic?

Yes. Our outpatient care includes rehabilitation for pain and orthopedic needs. Call with your concern and any recommendations from your medical clinician.

Will I receive the same plan as someone with the same diagnosis?

No. Your symptoms, medical guidance, activities, and goals shape the plan and how it is adjusted.
